‘สนามไชย 2’ ต้อนรับเอกอัครราชทูตสาธารณรัฐเกาหลีประจำประเทศไทย

ย้ำความสัมพันธ์ทางการทหารอันแน่นแฟ้นกว่า 70 ปี และการเสริมสร้างความร่วมมือรอบด้าน

พันเอก วีรยุทธ์ น้อมศิริ รองโฆษกกระทรวงกลาโหม กล่าวว่า เมื่อวันอังคารที่ 26 สิงหาคม 2568 เวลา 14.00 น. พลเอก ณัฐพล นาคพาณิชย์ รัฐมนตรีช่วยว่าการกระทรวงกลาโหม รักษาราชการแทนรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงกลาโหม ให้การต้อนรับเอกอัครราชทูตสาธารณรัฐเกาหลี (เกาหลีใต้) ประจำประเทศไทย ในโอกาสเข้าพบ ณ ห้องรับรองรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงกลาโหม

โอกาสนี้ รัฐมนตรีช่วยว่าการกระทรวงกลาโหม ได้กล่าวย้ำถึงความสัมพันธ์ทางการทหารที่แน่นแฟ้นและยาวนานระหว่างไทย – เกาหลีใต้ ซึ่งนับเป็นเกียรติและความภาคภูมิใจของกองทัพไทย ที่ได้ส่งกำลังพล 11,876 นาย เข้าร่วมรบในสงครามเกาหลีเมื่อกว่า 70 ปีก่อน และมีทหารกล้า จำนวน 129 นาย ที่พลีชีพเพื่อปกป้องอธิปไตยของสาธารณรัฐเกาหลี โดยรัฐบาลและประชาชนเกาหลีใต้ ยังคงยกย่องและให้เกียรติวีรกรรมของทหารไทยมาโดยตลอด อาทิ การสร้างอนุสาวรีย์เชิดชูเกียรติที่เมืองโพชอน การเยี่ยมเยียนทหารผ่านศึก รวมถึงการค้นหาและส่งกลับอัฐิของทหารไทยจากสมรภูมิเกาหลี

ด้านเอกอัครราชทูตสาธารณรัฐเกาหลี ได้กล่าวแสดงความซาบซึ้งและขอบคุณรัฐบาลและประชาชนไทยที่ได้ส่งกำลังพลเข้าร่วมรบในสงครามเกาหลี เพื่อปกป้องอธิปไตยของสาธารณรัฐเกาหลีเมื่อกว่า 70 ปีก่อน อันเป็นรากฐานสำคัญที่ทำให้ความสัมพันธ์ไทย – เกาหลีใต้ แน่นแฟ้นและยั่งยืนมาจนถึงปัจจุบัน พร้อมยืนยันความมุ่งมั่นที่จะส่งเสริมความร่วมมือทวิภาคีในทุกด้าน ทั้งในมิติการทหาร เศรษฐกิจ การศึกษา และวัฒนธรรม

ในด้านความร่วมมือ กระทรวงกลาโหมไทย ยืนยันเจตนารมณ์ในการเป็นพันธมิตรที่ใกล้ชิดกับกระทรวงกลาโหมเกาหลีใต้โดยมีการส่งนายทหารติดต่อและหมู่เชิญธง (Honor Guard) ไปประจำที่ กองบัญชาการสหประชาชาติ (UNC) ณ กรุงโซล อย่างต่อเนื่อง ตลอดจนการสนับสนุนการเข้าร่วมประชุมระดับรัฐมนตรีของประเทศผู้ส่งกำลังเข้าร่วมภารกิจ UNC ซึ่งเป็นเวทีสำคัญในการหารือสถานการณ์บนคาบสมุทรเกาหลี

รัฐมนตรีช่วยว่าการกระทรวงกลาโหม ยังได้กล่าวชื่นชมกองทัพเกาหลีใต้ที่เข้าร่วมการฝึกผสม “Cobra Gold 2568” ในฐานะประเทศเข้าร่วมหลัก ซึ่งประสบความสำเร็จเป็นอย่างดี พร้อมทั้งหวังว่าจะได้รับความร่วมมือเช่นเดียวกันในการฝึก “Cobra Gold 2569” ระหว่าง วันที่ 23 กุมภาพันธ์ – 6 มีนาคม 2569ในด้านการศึกษา กระทรวงกลาโหมไทยได้ขอบคุณเกาหลีใต้ ที่ให้การสนับสนุนที่นั่งศึกษาแก่กำลังพลไทย

ในหลักสูตรระดับเสนาธิการ และนายร้อยเหล่าทัพ ขณะเดียวกันฝ่ายไทยก็พร้อมเปิดโอกาสให้กำลังพลเกาหลีใต้เข้าศึกษาในหลักสูตรวิทยาลัยป้องกันราชอาณาจักร (วปอ.) และหลักสูตรโรงเรียนเสนาธิการเหล่าทัพ เพื่อสืบสานความร่วมมือด้านการศึกษาทางทหารระหว่างกัน

ประเทศไทยยังได้แสดงความยินดีที่จะเป็นประเทศผู้ประสานความสัมพันธ์ ในกรอบความร่วมมืออาเซียน – เกาหลีใต้ พร้อมสนับสนุนความร่วมมือทั้งในระดับทวิภาคีและพหุภาคี โดยได้หารือถึงการจัดกิจกรรมร่วมกันภายใต้กรอบการประชุมรัฐมนตรีกลาโหมอาเซียน (ADMM) และ ADMM-Plus รวมถึงความร่วมมือด้านอุตสาหกรรมป้องกันประเทศและการฝึกผสมทางทะเลในอนาคต

พันเอก วีรยุทธ์ กล่าวเพิ่มเติมว่า การพบปะในครั้งนี้ยังได้เชื่อมโยงไปถึงความสำเร็จของการประชุม Seoul Defense Dialogue (SDD) ที่จัดขึ้นอย่างต่อเนื่อง และในการประชุม SDD 2568 ที่กำลังจะมีขึ้น

ในวันที่ 8 – 10 กันยายน 2568 จะมีการเฉลิมฉลองครบรอบ 75 ปี การจัดตั้งกองบัญชาการสหประชาชาติ ซึ่งไทยพร้อมสนับสนุนอย่างเต็มที่

ในโอกาสเดียวกัน พลเอก ณัฐพล นาคพาณิชย์ ในฐานะผู้อำนวยการศูนย์เฉพาะกิจบริหารสถานการณ์บริเวณชายแดนไทยกัมพูชา (ศบ.ทก.) ได้ยืนยันว่า ฝ่ายไทยยึดถือแนวทางการแก้ไขปัญหาด้วยสันติวิธีมาโดยตลอด แม้ในห้วงที่ผ่านมาไทยต้องต่อสู้กับข้อมูลบิดเบือนจากฝ่ายกัมพูชา และประสบกับการล่วงล้ำอธิปไตย การลอบวางทุ่นระเบิด และพฤติกรรมยั่วยุต่าง ๆ แต่ไทยยังคงให้ความสำคัญกับการเจรจาหยุดยิง ส่งเสริมการทำงานของคณะผู้สังเกตการณ์ชั่วคราว (Interim Observer Team: IOT) จาก 8 ประเทศ และสนับสนุนการทำงานของคณะผู้สังเกตการณ์อาเซียน (AOT) ที่อยู่ระหว่างกระบวนการหารือทางกฎหมาย โดยไทยพร้อมอำนวยความสะดวกและสนับสนุนทั้งสองแนวทาง เพื่อความเป็นเอกภาพและประสิทธิภาพของอาเซียน

การพบปะครั้งนี้จึงสะท้อนให้เห็นถึงความสัมพันธ์อันแน่นแฟ้นระหว่าง ไทย – เกาหลีใต้ และเป็นโอกาสสำคัญที่จะต่อยอดความร่วมมือในทุกมิติ ทั้งด้านความมั่นคง การศึกษา อุตสาหกรรมป้องกันประเทศ และความร่วมมือในกรอบอาเซียน อันจะนำไปสู่สันติภาพ เสถียรภาพ และความมั่นคงร่วมกัน ของภูมิภาคอย่างยั่งยืน

Deputy Minister of Defence Welcomes the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Thailand, Reaffirms Over 70 Years of Strong Military Relations and Commitment to Expanding Comprehensive Cooperation

Colonel Veerayuth Nomsiri, Deputy Spokesperson of the Ministry of Defence, stated that on Tuesday, 26 August 2025, at 14.00 hrs, General Nattapon Nakpanit, Deputy Minister of Defence and Acting Minister of Defence, welcomed the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea (South Korea) to Thailand during a courtesy call at the Minister of Defence’s Reception Room.

On this occasion, the Deputy Minister of Defence emphasized the long-standing and close military relations between Thailand and South Korea. He highlighted the pride of the Royal Thai Armed Forces in having deployed 11,876 troops to fight in the Korean War more than 70 years ago, with 129 brave Thai soldiers sacrificing their lives in defense of the Republic of Korea’s sovereignty. The government and people of South Korea have consistently honored the heroism of Thai soldiers, including the construction of a monument in Pocheon, visits to Thai veterans, and the repatriation of the remains of Thai soldiers from Korean battlefields.

The Ambassador of the Republic of Korea expressed deep gratitude to the Thai government and people for sending troops to defend Korea’s sovereignty during the Korean War, which laid the foundation for today’s strong and enduring Thailand–South Korea relations. He reaffirmed his commitment to further enhancing bilateral cooperation in all areas, including military, economic, educational, and cultural dimensions.

In terms of cooperation, the Ministry of Defence of Thailand reaffirmed its commitment to being a close partner with the Ministry of National Defense of South Korea. This includes the continuous deployment of Thai liaison officers and honor guards to the United Nations Command (UNC) Headquarters in Seoul, as well as supporting Thailand’s participation in ministerial-level meetings of UNC contributing nations, which serve as key platforms for discussing the security situation on the Korean Peninsula.

The Deputy Minister of Defence also praised the Republic of Korea Armed Forces for their successful participation as a principal participant in the “Cobra Gold 2025” joint exercise and expressed hope for continued cooperation in the upcoming “Cobra Gold 2026” exercise, scheduled from 23 February to 6 March 2026.

On military education, the Ministry of Defence of Thailand expressed appreciation to South Korea for granting study placements for Thai personnel in staff and cadet officer courses. In return, Thailand is ready to welcome South Korean personnel to study at the National Defence College (NDC) and the Command and General Staff College, further strengthening mutual military education cooperation.

Thailand also conveyed its readiness to serve as the coordinating country for ASEAN–Korea cooperation, supporting both bilateral and multilateral collaboration. Discussions included joint activities within the frameworks of the ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting (ADMM) and ADMM-Plus, as well as potential cooperation in defence industry and joint maritime exercises in the future.

Colonel Veerayuth further noted that the meeting also highlighted the success of the Seoul Defense Dialogue (SDD), which has been held regularly. The upcoming SDD 2025, to be held from 8–10 September 2025, will commemorate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of the United Nations Command, with Thailand pledging full support.

At the same meeting, General Nattapon Nakpanit, in his capacity as Director of the Thai–Cambodian Border Situation Management Task Force, reaffirmed that Thailand has consistently adhered to peaceful means in resolving disputes, despite facing disinformation from Cambodia, sovereignty violations, landmine incidents, and provocative actions. Thailand continues to prioritize ceasefire negotiations, support the work of the Interim Observer Team (IOT) from eight countries, and endorse the efforts of the ASEAN Observer Team (AOT), currently under legal discussions. Thailand stands ready to facilitate and support both mechanisms to ensure ASEAN’s unity and effectiveness.

This meeting reflected the strong Thailand–South Korea relationship and presented an important opportunity to advance cooperation in all dimensions — security, education, defence industry, and ASEAN frameworks — contributing to lasting peace, stability, and shared security across the region.
