เมื่อ 25 ธันวาคม 2568 พลตรี วินธัย สุวารี โฆษกกองทัพบก เปิดเผยว่า กองทัพภาคที่ 2 ได้รายงานความคืบหน้าภายหลังเหตุการณ์กำลังพลกองทัพภาคที่ 2 เหยียบทุ่นระเบิด ระหว่าง
การปฏิบัติภารกิจเสริมความมั่นคงในพื้นที่ปราสาทตาควาย
 จากการตรวจสอบพื้นที่ใกล้เคียงจุดเกิดเหตุเพิ่มเติมโดยหน่วยเก็บกู้ทุ่นระเบิด พบการติดตั้งทุ่นระเบิดสังหารบุคคลชนิด PMN-2 เพิ่มจำนวน 4 ทุ่น วางเรียงต่อเนื่องตามเส้นทางเคลื่อนที่
ของกำลังพล โดยอยู่ห่างจากจุดเกิดเหตุเพียง 30 เซนติเมตร ลักษณะการวางทุ่นระเบิดดังกล่าว สะท้อนถึงการมุ่งหมายให้เกิดอันตรายต่อชีวิตของเจ้าหน้าที่และบุคคลที่สัญจรผ่านพื้นที่อย่างชัดเจน
 กองทัพบกขอยืนยันว่า หลักฐานเชิงประจักษ์ดังกล่าวบ่งชี้อย่างชัดเจนว่า ฝ่ายกัมพูชา
ยังคงมีการใช้ทุ่นระเบิดสังหารบุคคลอย่างต่อเนื่อง ซึ่งถือเป็นการละเมิดพันธกรณีระหว่างประเทศ
ตามอนุสัญญาว่าด้วยการห้ามใช้ทุ่นระเบิดสังหารบุคคล (อนุสัญญาออตตาวา) อย่างร้ายแรง
และเป็นการกระทำที่ขัดต่อหลักมนุษยธรรมสากล
 ทั้งนี้ กองทัพบกจะรวบรวมข้อมูล หลักฐาน และรายละเอียดทั้งหมด ส่งมอบให้กระทรวงการต่างประเทศ เพื่อดำเนินการตามขั้นตอนทางการทูต และยกระดับการชี้แจงต่อประชาคมระหว่างประเทศในเวทีนานาชาติอย่างเป็นทางการต่อไป โดยกองทัพบกขอประณามการกระทำดังกล่าว
อย่างถึงที่สุด และขอย้ำว่าการใช้ทุ่นระเบิดสังหารบุคคลในทุกกรณี เป็นการกระทำที่ไม่อาจยอมรับได้ในสังคมโลก

The Royal Thai Army Reports Discovery of Four Additional PMN-2 Landmines
 near Site Where a Thai Soldier Stepped on a Landmine; Evidence to Be Submitted
on Ottawa Violations

 On 25 December 2025, Major General Winthai Suvaree, Spokesperson of the Royal Thai Army, stated that the Second Army Area had reported further developments following an incident in which personnel from the Second Army Area stepped on
a landmine while conducting security operations in the Ta Kwai Temple area.
 Subsequent inspections of the surrounding area by explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) units revealed the emplacement of four additional PMN-2 anti-personnel landmines, laid consecutively along the route used by Thai personnel, at a distance of approximately 30 centimetres from the incident site. The manner in which the landmines were placed clearly indicates intent to cause harm to the lives of military personnel and civilians transiting the area.
 The Royal Thai Army reaffirms that this concrete evidence demonstrates that the Cambodian side continues to employ anti-personnel landmines, constituting
a serious violation of international obligations under the Convention on the Prohibition of the Use of Anti-Personnel Mines (Ottawa Convention) and an act contrary
to fundamental humanitarian principles.
 The Royal Thai Army will compile all relevant information, evidence, and details and submit them to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for further diplomatic action and for formal protest to the international community in the appropriate international fora. The Royal Thai Army strongly condemns such actions and reiterates that the use
of anti-personnel landmines under any circumstances is unacceptable in the international community.
